The Public-Private Formula: How Strong Partnerships Create Healthier Communities APHA Panel

To unofficially kick off our anniversary year in November 2018, we brought leading thinkers and doers together at the APHA Annual Meeting to explore the key elements of successful partnerships that can lead to Improved health outcomes at scale. Dr. Blayne Cutler, Heluna Health’s President and CEO sat down with Dr. Soma Stout, Vice President at Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Executive Lead of the 100 Million Healthier Lives movement, Patrick McGovern, Vice President of Government Affairs at Gilead Sciences, Inc., Vivian Vasallo, Partnerships and Innovation Director at Fannie Mae, and Jake Segal, Vice President of Advisory Services at Social Finance to get perspectives from across the field.

Marketing activities:

• Email invitations to five separate audiences with a total of ~7,500 people: one sponsored/purchased email to APHA attendees, three partner email invitations with communications toolkits, series of five email invitations to Heluna’s contact base over three months

• Event presence on Heluna Health website and social media posts

• Print flyer

• Live-tweeting w/ #Together4Change hashtag at the event

• Giveaway bag with collateral and 50th-anniversary flyer

• Follow up and thank you email to attendees and registrants with 50th-anniversary preview on www.helunahealth.org/50Years

Event recap newsroom post with the link to video recording

• Facebook Live broadcast with post-event recording promotion 

Results:

• 150 event attendees, including four board members 

• ~24% MOM increase in user website traffic and 27% MOM increase in new user website traffic from October to November 2018

• 158 new email addresses added to our contact base

• 12% increase in followers on LinkedIn, 23% increase in followers on Twitter, 122% increase in likes on Facebook MOM Oct. to Nov. 2018
