Background:

Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) is an impact investor supporting small business owners and their communities in the fight for economic, racial, and gender justice. PCV works alongside growing small business leaders and solopreneurs through its integrated model, combining impact-first Restorative Capital and Pro Bono Business Advising with the Good Jobs Innovation Lab.

Challenge:

PCV needed to refresh its brand image to align with its evolving mission and values. The challenge was to develop a brand refresh that effectively communicated PCV's purpose and highlighted its commitment to empowering communities. The previous year's Impact Report presented as a static PDF, lacked dynamic engagement. The 2021 report didn't reflect the community's vibrancy or present data and stories compellingly. The goal was to evolve the brand and ensure the new report captured community diversity and energy while engaging audiences. The 2022 Impact Report unveiling provided the perfect opportunity for this transformation.

The evolution in design mirrors PCV's commitment to progress and innovation, signaling a new era of impactful storytelling and community engagement.

Objectives:

  • Brand Identity Evolution: Develop a new brand identity resonating with PCV's target audience while conveying its core values and impact-oriented focus.
  • Showcasing Impact: Utilize the 2022 Impact Report to spotlight PCV's achievements, success stories of supported businesses, and positive transformations within served communities.
  • Engaging Stakeholders: Ensure the new brand identity and impact report resonate with diverse stakeholders, including donors, partners, community members, and fellow impact-driven entities.

Target Audience:

  • Small Business Owners and Solopreneurs
  • Investors and Funders
  • Policy Makers and Advocates
  • Community Members
  • Impact Investors and Organizations

Outcome:

The 2022 Annual Impact Report serves as a dynamic testament to PCV's dedication to empowering BIPOC entrepreneurs. It encapsulates triumphs in success stories, programmatic achievements, financial performance, policy engagements, and tangible community impacts. Its design captivates and content resonates with a broad audience, fostering heightened awareness and understanding of PCV's pioneering work.

Conclusion:

The strategic evolution of PCV's brand identity, combined with the impactful 2022 Impact Report, demonstrates the organization's commitment to change-making. By illustrating real-world outcomes and the ripple effects of their initiatives, PCV illuminates its journey towards economic equity and social justice. This transformation serves as a cornerstone in PCV's ongoing narrative of empowerment and community upliftment.
